I make paintings and drawings depicting symbolic imagery from dreams, fairytales and literature and sacred texts.

I have always been fascinated with the inner experience of being human, and how dreams, folklore and spiritual writings have expressed universal themes throughout the ages, encapsulating a wisdom and clarity that is relevant to us today.

I respond to symbolic content I find in my dreams and waking world. It’s a bit like mining for treasure as I seek to bring something valuable to life. Sometimes my paintings are representational, other times they are semi-abstract. They are all approached with the intention of expanding and delving deeper into the stories behind the images.

Sharing stories as images is a catalyst for solidarity because many of our experiences are so universal. We are never alone in our plight. It is my hope that my artwork amplifies the meaning that is hidden within symbols and stories and that they somehow carry with them a feeling of comfort and peace.
